E-Scooter Startup TIER Mobility Adds CCO And COO To Its C-Suite

Germani’s e-scooter rental ride-sharing service provider, TIER Mobility, has announced Moritz Werner as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Roger Hassan as Chief Operational Officer (COO). Before this C-suite announcement, this e-mobility startup bagged $60 million in its Series B funding, which co-led by venture capital firms Mubadala Capital and Goodwater Capital, late 2019.

In TIER Mobility, Moritz will be accountable for activities related to revenue. On the other hand, Roger will take care of all the business-related expenses, including all operations, whereas both the recruits will report to Lawrence Leuschner, the TIER co-founder.

In 2018, Julian Blessin, Lawrence Leuschner, and Matthias Laug founded TIER Mobility with the motive of providing sustainable micro-mobility ride-sharing services. It is the fastest-growing e-scooter service, which has 20,000 scooters that provide service to 40 cities across 12 countries. To integrate all micro-mobility assets, TIER partnered with public transportation providers in Berlin, Munich, and Bonn.

Roger Hassan was CEO of Echo, the UK-based fastest growing medication management and repeat digital pharmacy prescription app acquired recently by Lloyds Pharmacy owner of McKesson. Earlier, Roger was COO International of the world’s biggest meal-kit company, HelloFresh. He served nearly 4 years in HelloFresh and was responsible for establishing the operations and supply chain expertise in around 10 markets.

Moritz Werner who recently partnered with corporate venture builder, BCG Digital Ventures. He is also the MD of this firm. Besides, he has worked for over 10 years at Boston Consulting Group. He also founded a mass-customization jewelry company named 21Diamonds in 2011, which was funded by Rocket Internet, and in 2019 it was acquired by Richa Bansal.

TIER’s CTO Matthias Laug, CEO Lawrence Leuschner, and CFO Alex Gayer will be in the leadership team of TIER Mobility. According to the TIER’s spokesperson, the startup is planning to hire experienced senior members to expand its new executive team in the coming months.
