2019 Thanksgiving Sales Hit a Record Growth in Online Purchase

As Thanksgiving Day has passed by, the Holiday shopping is going to beat previous year counts and numbers. The sales till Thanksgiving day is substantiating some of the Holiday shopping analysis, especially Adobe's. According to Adobe’s survey, shoppers have spent $2.1 billion online alone by 2 pm, and the current shopping will be hitting Adobe’s early forecast as well.

The total Thanksgiving sales report is yet to come, and significant growth in sales is indisputable. The role of smartphones in boosting the Holiday sale is pretty visible. Shoppers have already benefited from Black Friday deals. Shopping online through smartphones is now a huge fad. On Thanksgiving Day, Shopify has witnessed an average of 5500 orders worth $491,000 per minute. 

Apparels and accessories, the most popular categories in Shopify, sold around 66%, and New York spent the most till Thanksgiving day. Also, the average cart price has been $78.66. Though, the whole day report is yet to come. 

Adobe’s 2019 Holiday Shopping Trends Analytics started updating since November 1, 2019. According to the calculation, 2019 Holiday sales would hit $143.8 billion. At the same time, it was $126 billion in 2018. As of November 28, 2 pm PST, the actual amount is $52.9 billion. By this time, it marked $2.1 billion growth, and compared to 2018, YOY growth of 20.2% is quite remarkable. 

Considering the actual purchase and traffic, until the day before Thanksgiving, 61% of revenue is from desktop, whereas the same by smartphone is 34%. Quite interestingly, the traffic is almost similar by smartphone and desktop; 34% and 38%, respectively. 

For customers, Adobe is also giving an analysis of the best days and offers to purchase their favorite products. Black Friday will be best for buying appliances with 9% and sporting goods with 6%. On December 1, Sunday, computers, and toys will be sold with huge offers. With Cyber Monday deals, buying televisions will let you save 19%, according to Adobe’s analytics. Besides, the offers and deals will be extended to December 3, Giving Tuesday.
