There are no much changes in Spotify Lite from the main app except the removal of some features such as video and cover artist since they are contrary to the idea of data-friendly app. The significant changes are in data consumption.

The Lite version features instant downloading and installing. The user can set a data limit, and it will notify when the usage volume reaches the limit. In the case of storage, it restricts the cache with the single-tap clearing mechanism.

Even though it’s Lite version, a  user can use it along with the main app. The saved items in the Lite will be available in the main Spotify app too.

After the launching of Lite version more than 1 Million people have downloaded the app from Play Store. This incredible number of downloads signals to an alternative lite form of entertainment that more people around the world looking for. The number will be increasing unbelievably in the coming days.

A few months back Spotify had experimented another Lite version in countries including India, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, and some other countries. India will be Spotify’s one of the major markets, and the latest Lite version will be a strong competitor for other regional music streaming apps.
