tbh, is an app that allows teens to send anonymous compliments to each other. Now Facebook is buying the app and Facebook is permitting the app to run as it did before, which is parallel to how other social networking apps worked. The app has notched up to a whopping 5 million downloads and 2.5 million daily effective users over the past nine weeks with its app. ‘tbh’ which stands for ‘To Be Honest,’ lets people anonymously answer warm-hearted multiple choice questions about friends who then greet the poll results as compliments. In a way tbh prevents people from writing spiteful comments and cyberbullying.

Certain prewritten compliments like “Could win an Olympic gold medal for their eyeliner game” are present in the app as possible answers. Answers are unspecified and whoever you select will get indicated of your choice. The other compliments include “who has the best smile” and “which makes me laugh the hardest” to motivate the teenagers to feel more authenticated and positive.

This stresses on being more upbeat. In a statement about an acquisition, the start-up said that they wanted to create a community that made all of us feel happier and more confident about ourselves. Over the last few years, Facebook has been eager to acquire every destination that is popular among the masses which is why it now owns three of the largest online communities in the world: Whatsapp, Instagram and not to forget its own network.

Facebook stated, “tbh and Facebook share a common goal- of building community and enabling people to share in ways that bring us closer together. We’re impressed by the way tbh is doing this by using polling and messaging and with Facebook’s resource tbh can continue to expand and build positive experiences.”
