Scaler Academy - Training Tech Professionals To Polish Their Coding Skills
e-Learning has evolved a lot in the past few years. And, if we talk about the last two years, COVID-19 has boosted the growth of the e-learning industry. There are various e-learning platforms in India that provide courses and skill improvement training programs that are helping school students and college goers enhance their skills. As India’s IT industry is booming, college graduates or even college students are more interested in joining major IT companies. Coding, data science, and machine learning are some of the must-have skills that most IT companies are looking for.
Scaler Academy is one of the popular online upskilling platforms for tech professionals and college students who want to grow their careers in software development and building tech products. It provides the best guidance to the students by allocating highly qualified personal mentors.
Scaler by InterviewBit - Paving The Way For Tech Enthusiasts To Grow
Abhimanyu Saxena and Anshuman Singh, both graduated from IIT-Hyderabad, started a startup named InterviewBit in 2014 to provide a platform for practicing coding problems. Then, in 2015, InterviewBit was changed to Scaler Academy, and its main goal was to accelerate the coding skills of software professionals. This platform teaches students the required skills to crack in software jobs and guides them through the recruitment processes.
Expanding Business Branches To Strengthen Upskilling Offerings
Recently, Scaler Academy acquired the Delhi-based online ed-tech platform, Coding Elements, in an all-cash deal of $1 million (roughly ?8 Crore). This acquisition is the first acquisition for Scaler Academy, which is run by InterviewBit. The two months have been in constant talk for months for this acquisition. After Scaler Academy’s entry into data science and machine learning courses, this acquisition will add product-based courses.
With Coding Elements’ acquisition, Scaler Academy will end all active courses and batches of Coding Elements. Mudit Goel, founder of Coding Elements, will join Scaler as its lead strategy and product lead; with his role, Goel will help Scaler build relationships with industry partners.
Earlier this year, Scaler Academy has set aside a fund pool of ?50 Crores to explore M&A avenues. With this move, Abhimanyu Saxena, cofounder of Scaler Academy and InterviewBit stated that now they are open to acquiring companies that will help their business reach a wider audience and have a highly qualified team.
Achievements That Helped Scaler Academy To Reach The Top
Initially started with a handful of employees, Scaler Academy has overcome various challenges, and now it has over 500 employees and 1000 mentors regularly working to provide proper guidance to the students. The company has stated that more than 7500 students have joined their courses and training programs, and out of them, over 1500 students have been placed in top tech companies globally.
Last January, Scaler Academy raised $20 million from Sequoia Capital India, Rocket Internet, and Tiger Global Management. This encouraged Scaler Academy to expand its business and helped them to acquire Coding Elements.
