Samsung Seeks Trademark for Crypto Wallet

Samsung, which is a South Korean electronics giant company is now apparently seeking a trademark in the United Kingdom for a cryptocurrency wallet, according to the report which has been revealed.

In the “Terms and Classes” section of the applications, Samsung cites such developments as the “Computer software tools for use a cryptocurrency wallet: Computer Software for the cryptocurrency transfer and payment with the help of a blockchain technology, computer application for smartphones, software to allow the users to transfer the cryptocurrency based on the blockchain technology and pay with the help of a third party application software”.

The application as of now follows some of the rumors, that the company has a plans to include a cryptocurrency cold wallet to its Galaxy S10 smartphone. Samsung as of now has filed three European trademark applications for the cryptocurrency and blockchain related software on the 10th of December.

Before that in November, a report stated that the major of the smartphone manufacturer HTC integrated decentalziaed browser Brave on the HTC exodus one phone, which is the “first native blockchain phone” with support for the multiple blockchains that even includes the Ethereum(ETH) and Bitcoin(BTC) networks.

In the month of November, blockchain focused more on the electronic supplier SIRIN Labs launched its first blockchain based smartphone called the FINNEY. Based on both the Android Operating System and SIRIN open source operating system, SIRIN OS, the FINNEY phone provides with cold storage crypto and provide the encrypted communications.

In the October, Samsung production wing, Samsung Foundry, revealed a new production process of its 7 nanometers (nm) Low Power Plus(7PP) process node, which could also help to reduce its energy consumption by up to 50 percent. The chip could have some of the positive implications for the crypto miners with the Samsung hardware, as energy costs provide to be so much critical factor in the industry profitability.
