Huawei's Honor to Release Android Smartphone in India This Year

October 1st, 2019

Huawei owned Honor has announced its Android-based handset launch in India by the end of this year. The latest announcements emphasize Huawei’s progress at the global level despite the American government’s ban on the leading Chinese multinational technology company for the purchase of software and hardware components from US companies.

"We are going to release Honor 9X by the end of this year in India on Android. We have always been thankful to our US partners for their support," Honor India President Charles Peng revealed to PTI.

In September 2019, Honor had unveiled Honor Vision smart TV that is developed on the company-owned operating system HarmonyOS, a consequence of the US ban on Huawei. Honor Vision is the first product made on HarmonyOS. It’s already launched in some of the European countries, and it will start selling in India in the first quarter of 2020.

To bring the most entertaining streaming experience, Honor has already started discussions with leading video entertainment companies in India.

Peng also announced the implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) to bring effective service in its Indian market.

"Honor has built an IoT product strategy for every Honor subsequent product launches called 1 8 N. '1' stands for smartphones and '8' for Honor products. 'N' signifies the ecosystem partner products including mobile offices, smart homes, audio-visual entertainment, sports and health, and smart travel products," Peng said.

Even though Huawei's business in the US is uncertain, the company is showing a global growth increase. According to the Cnet report on 16th October, the Chinese company has shipped 185 million phones so far in 2019. It marks a year-on-year increase of 26%.

As Huawei is developing 5G, the firm is getting pretty good responses from many European countries, and more than 60 commercial firms agreed to provide 5G networking equipment to carriers around the world.
