August 1st, 2019

The real-estate technology company Curbio has reportedly announced the close of $7 million in Series A funding co-led by Camber Creek and Brick & Motor.

The latest addition pushes the company’s total capital to $13.6 million. Curbio has stated that the funding will be used to scale up the growth, introduce new technologies, and expand its network.

Founded in 2017 by Matt Siegel and Rick Rudman, the startup addresses itself as a ‘renovation partner’ helping home sellers renovate their homes quickly and cost-effectively before putting up their home for sale.

Curbio uses its proprietary technology to provide real-time updates to the home sellers regarding the renovation project via comments, pictures, and videos. The company claims that through the use of its proprietary technology, home sellers have been able to complete the renovation 60% faster.

Rick Rudman, President, and CEO of Curbio stated that home sellers lost billions in equity each year on selling homes in less than ideal conditions for below-market prices.

Most home sellers do not put the effort and time to renovate their homes. According to Rudman, the startup removes all these roadblocks to unlock the full profit potential for every selling house owner. He further expressed his excitement on welcoming Camber Creek and Brick & Motor as their investment partners.

Camber Creek is a venture capital firm that invests in technology startups centered around real-estate. The firm has 22 companies to date in its portfolio.

Casey Berman, Managing Director of Camber Creek, stated that Curbio had transformed home renovation, general contract, and home flipping markets to offer homeowners a novel way to achieve the full potential value of their homes.

Curbio claims that its number of projects grew over 650% from last year. The startup operates in Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, among many others.

The company is set to expand its operations to Miami, Chicago, and Tampa by the end of the year. Curbio also targets to complete more than 1000 renovation projects in the year 2020.
