Cloud Kitchen Startup Kitchens Centre Lifts $500K From AngelList India

April 4th, 2020

Kitchens Centre, a Delhi-NCR headquartered cloud kitchen startup, has received $500K in seed round from AngelList India. Besides, Jake Zeller partner at Angelist, Ankush Gera, founder of Junglee Games, Utsav Somani partner at AngelList India, Revant Bhate Co-founder of Mosaic Wellness, and Jonathon Swanson the Co-founder of Thumbtack also participated in the funding round. With the latest investment, Kitchens Centre is planning to expand its operation in several new cities.

In 2019, Lakshay Jain founded Kitchens Centre. It is a cloud kitchen startup that offers kitchen infrastructure and commercial space for the production of food such as delivery services, maintenance services, and ordering online. It has centers in all North India which include a few brands like Burgrill, Wok Me, BTW, Asian Haus, 34 Chowringhee Lane, and WOW! Momo.

Later, Kitchens Centre purchased Posify, a technology-driven solution of food and liquor brands. The startup says that Posify gathers every brand together and manages orders at one platform. It can also help in delivery tracking, billing and inventory management. Jain said, apart from cutting down the capital and expenses of brands, Posify is capable of increasing 25% sales.

According to DataLabs by Inc42, Cloud Kitchens is going to reach the mark of $1.5 billion by the end of 2023. DataLabs also says that Zomato and Swiggy are about to make 63% of shares in their food delivery sector. Back in 2017, these two big food app entered into the market to compete with other platforms like Freshmenu, Eat.fit, Rebel Foods, and Box8,

Cloud Kitchens' business model is completely reliant on the food platforms. The ones who are running their platform independently also have challenges to face such as managing kitchen and delivery services. Therefore, Kitchens Centre is one of the best startups for new brands to set-up top-notch cloud kitchens.

Currently, Kitchen Centre is working in 5 locations, operating 22 brands, 90% occupancy rate, 100% retention rate, 10,000 customer experience, 50 tenants exclusive, and 11 members of the team.

Recently, Bigspoon, Ahmedabad-based cloud kitchen received $200,000 funding from Marquee, LetsVenture, Lemonade Ventures, and Urmin Family Office.
