Braincheck Raises $1.5 Million to Bring AI To Dementia Care

BrainCheck, a Houston, Texas-based digital neuro-cognitive testing platform has now secured $1.5 Million in the funding round. The round which brought the total funding to $5 Million to date was led by the True Wealth ventures with collaborations from the Tensility Venture Partners, XFactor Ventures, Angel investors and S3 Ventures.

The company as of now has a plans to use the funds to expands its R&D and enhance its offering and invest in the sales and marketing talent to accelerate deployment in the field of clinical practice.

The startup which is founded and born at the Eagleman Neuroscience Laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine (now at Stanford) in 2015 by neuroscientists and technologists Dr. David Eagleman (Baylor College of Medicine/Stanford) and Dr. Yael Katz, BrainCheck enables physicians to accurately assess cognitive function and deliver some of the cognitive care at scale. The platform as of now is currently used by many of the clinical practices and with more than 40,000 individuals.

With the combination of screeners, assessment, workflows and clinical decision support algorithms, the platform enables the physicians to provide with a detailed, personalized care plan to the caregiver and patient at the time of point care.

“BrainCheck’s robust and rich dataset on cognitive health, which is also coupled with other health and biometric data, that also enable us to personalize with the dementia care at scale,” said Dr. Yael Katz, co-founder, and CEO of BrainCheck. “For the first time, some of the clinicians and caregivers can observe whether the lots of interventions are working by tracing lots of cognitive change to a patient’s medications, lifestyle, chronic diseases, and iterate on these interventions to optimize further outcomes.”
