Amazon is full of surprises. Monday, Amazon made an announcement along with Whole Foods, its grocery chain store that the discounts for the prime members will now be available in ten more states which includes Washington, Oregon, North Carolina, Arizona, and Georgia all across the U.S. These new discounts have a probability to bring Amazon's membership program to the grocery industry. This gives the customers using Amazon another good reason to be a part of the Prime membership program, with a 10 percent off on grocery items at the Whole Foods store, and also weekly based discounts. All a prime membership holder needs to do while shopping at Whole Foods stores is get access to the Whole Foods mobile app, sign into their Amazon account, and during the checkout, scan the Prime barcode.
This provision of discounts scheme was first made available back in Mid-may in Florida, with a promise to continue its expansion all across the market and among the 365 stores of Whole Foods all along summer in the U.S soon. A bit later in the same month, Amazon kept its promise by branching out the discount scheme to 12 more states that included Texas, California, and Colorado. The firm proudly claims that today the Whole Foods discounts are spread over the areas of: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri (Kansas City only), Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Washington. A.C. Gallo, Chief Operating Officer of Whole Foods, said: “In the previous month, we have received positive feedback from our customers and this program has been a success. Given how things are going, we are going to increase our timeline for the expansion of these savings to all of our stores in the U.S.”
The discounts at Whole Foods stores for prime members are already on board in 13 states but in all the new 10 states, the Prime Member Discounts starts from Wednesday, June 13.
