HTC has announced its latest flagship smartphone – the U11 inspired by the power of touch and the Brilliant U. This is the world’s first smartphone with revolutionary new squeeze interaction by which you can squeeze the device sides to perform different functions. One of the key highlights of this smartphone is the new enhanced feature called “Edge Sense.” You can configure this feature to perform a variety of tasks with either short or long squeeze. The short squeeze you can set for opening the camera and then taking the snap when the camera app is open. And you can configure the long squeeze to launch the Google Voice Assistant or toggle the flashlight on and off.
HTC U11 is featured with a 5.5 inch Quad HD, Super LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating. Its ‘liquid surface design’ with mirror like reflection makes it look like a lot U Ultra. The smartphone is available in two variants – 4GB RAM with 64 GB Storage and also 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. It is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and supports microSD cards of up to 2TB.
It is the first smartphone of the company that will come with three digital assistants. In addition to the Google Assistant that comes with Android, HTC U11 also has the HTCs Sense Companion that supports for Amazon’s Alexa Assistant. It is the first smartphone with having full hands-free support for Alexa that lets you say a voice command without opening the app first or even unlock the phone.
HTC is making a partnership with Sprint in the US as an exclusive carrier partner for this new smartphone U11. It is now also available for pre-orders and will be hitting stores on June 9th. HTC is largely staying conservative with its new flagship U11. The squeezable feature is great but how this feature makes it game changing we can see only, once the phone is available in the market.
